Flyover of Broughty Ferry.
First time I've tried starting from a LAZ point cloud rather than a pre-processed raster.
Great to see how much point cloud functionality is provided out-of-the-box in
Used python script to get OBJ file into Blender - not strictly needed
The oil-colour look was from using Kuwahara filter in blender, with a guassian blur to keep file size down.
@stevefaeembra wow that's awesome
@stevefaeembra That's pretty cool. What was the source of the input images? Was there an actual drone flight, or is this model created from ground-based images?
@simon_brooke cheers! No drone.
Point cloud was from Scottish Remote Sensing portal, then converted to a mesh for Blender. Draped Bing aerial imagery on top
Camera work done in Blender, animating camera and focal point along two parallel semicurcular arcs.
@stevefaeembra I see! So essentially you could do much the same for anywhere in the central belt, if this map is correct?
Presumably you don't get colour information from LIDAR data, so there must be some photography dataset used?
more proof the earth is flat .. and it is a square
I knew Trump knew better than physicists and astronomers.
nice work
@stevefaeembra that's fantastic!
