それにしても、こんなミラノの中心部に刑務所があるとは思わなかった。Google Maps のレビューを読んでいて面白い。現在の評価は3.1。案外高い？？？

Meanwhile in Ireland, while capturing street-level imagery... I stopped the camera fairly early on; my friend and driver said that that farm had 500 cows.

ナポリから早朝に帰ってきて、すぐにPoliMIでのMindEarthセミナーに参加。卒業生の Francesca Asaro 氏が、Mapillary データや衛星画像などを組み合わせて都市のデジタルツインB2Gサービスにチャレンジしている概要を説明してくれた。
それと、欧州の建物ストックデータセット「EUBUCCO」を教えてもらって興味深い。MITライセンスのオープンデータなので Mapillaryデータの分析に使えそう。
Finally, one of my goals has been achieved: the amount of Mapillary 360 Street-level imagery data published in Milano has reached the highest number ever! However, I have not yet been able to update the data for western Milano, so I will continue to accelerate our data collection! Notably, not only me but also another Japanese Professor Inasaka ranked in the top 10.
Making 360° Images for #mapillary
Camera takes a 96MPixel image, dual Fisheye every 3 seconds. To stitch the image into a Equirectangular image for upload takes ~64 seconds.
Given - no GPU used. Using Hugin, imagemagick etc.
So an hour driving causes 20 CPU hours on a 8 Core Ryzen 7 Pro 4750U.
I guess the processing pipeline could be optimized.
同じ時期にミラノにサバティカルでやってきて、ひと足先に日本に帰国する戦友の稲坂先生送迎パーティーのあと、深夜の Bocconi 大学付近をMapillaryで撮影しながら歩いていたら、日本から留学している学生二人に声かけられてしばし談笑タイム。ローマと違って、ミラノは日本人少ないので、逆に不思議な出会いが沢山ある。
Bocconi と PoliMI の日本人留学生ネットワークもあるとのこと。
異国の地で頑張っている学生を見るとついつい応援してしまう。
ちなみにこの後学生たちは深夜のジェラートを食べに夜のミラノの街に消えた。

Vor einigen Jahren wurde #Mapillary an #Meta verkauft. Und auch #Google StreetView möchte vielleicht nicht jeder nutzen.
Mit Panoramax gibt es nun eine #FOSS Alternative. Sie soll dezentral organisiert werden. Dies ist meines Wissens die erste Instanz:

Kleiner Tipp:
Falls man das AdOn #ClearURLs verwendet, kommt man eventuell über die Animation wegen Blockierung von ETags nicht hinaus. Deshalb nutze ich Panoramax als #Firefox-PWA am Desktop.

Two weeks since joining a casual meet-up of local tech enthusiasts, I found them actively re-mapping their town in #OpenStreetMap, making quick updates with @organicmaps , working on @streetcomplete quests, or playing with ground-level imagery collection (like this screenshot of a photo contributed to #Mapillary)
It was interesting how they've used it to add things relevant for them: adding walkways, bike routes, remote settlements and chapels, and (hopefully) having fun at the same time.
Does anyone have experience with a suction cup holder for GoPros for installing it on the car roof rather than inside on the windscreen? For the odd time I can use it with a Tesla (no metal roof) or for public transport (where I would use it inside, but also no metal surfaces). The magnetic foot works very well for magnetic surfaces, but I dont want to be restricted by the surface. ##gopro #panoramax #mapillary #StreetLevelImagery

Super high tech setup to capture street-level imagery on a newly introduced rural bus route. Images are already on #mapillary, still working on #panoramax uploads. There was very little magnetic material on the bus for the magnetic foot of the setup. It worked, though. #gopromax #gopro #opendata
